1) COLLECTION, PROCESSING AND USE OF PERSONAL DATA


We do not collect any personal data from you when you visit this website.

2) USE OF OWN COOKIES


When calling up certain pages, a so-called "session cookie" is set. This is a small text file that is automatically deleted from your computer at the end of the browser session. This file is used exclusively to save your preferred language. You can change the settings of most web browsers so that your browser does not accept new cookies or you can have received cookies deleted. How this works specifically for your browser can usually be found out via its help function.

3) SERVER LOG FILES


As with any connection to a web server, the server of our web hosting provider cyon in Basel, Switzerland, logs and stores certain technical data. This data includes the IP address and the operating system of your device, the data, the access time, the type of browser and the browser request including the origin of the request (referrer). This is necessary for technical reasons to provide you with our website. The web hosting provider protects this data from unauthorized access using technical and organizational measures and does not pass it on to third parties. To the extent that we process personal data in the process, we do so based on our interest in providing you with the best possible user experience and ensuring the security and stability of our systems.

4) HOSTING STATIC CONTENT


We use the products "S3", "CloudFormation" and "Cloudfront" from Amazon Web Services, Inc., 410 Terry Avenue North, Seattle WA 98109, USA, ("AWS") for hosting and distributing the static website content (images, videos, files), who processes our data on behalf. AWS is Privacy Shield certified and thus guarantees to process personal data in accordance with European data protection laws even outside of the European Economic Area (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000TOWQAA4&status=Active).

5) MATOMO ANALYTICS


To better understand what interests visitors to our websites and whether they find their way around, we use the open-source analysis tool Matomo. We collect the following data:

  • User IP address (anonymized)
  • Date and time of the request
  • Title of the page being viewed (Page Title)
  • URL of the page being viewed (Page URL)
  • URL of the page that was viewed prior to the current page (Referrer URL)
  • Screen resolution being used
  • Time in local user’s timezone
  • Files that were clicked and downloaded (Download)
  • Links to an outside domain that were clicked (Outlink)
  • Pages generation time (the time it takes for webpages to be generated by the webserver and then downloaded by the user: Page speed)
  • Location of the user: country, region, city, approximate latitude and longitude (Geolocation)
  • Main Language of the browser being used (Accept-Language header)
  • User Agent of the browser being used (User-Agent header)

We do not use tracking cookies. The data is stored in our system for a maximum of 120 days and then deleted.

Since Matomo is hosted via our server, this data never leaves our area of responsibility. IP addresses are anonymized by 2 bytes (6 digits) in our configuration and do not allow any conclusion about the actual connection.

If you do not want your visits to our websites to be tracked, you can enable the "Do not track" option in your browser and Matomo will not collect any data from you.

6) NEWSLETTER 


If you have signed up for our newsletter with your email address, we will store and use your email address to send you our newsletter with information and advertising about us until you have unsubscribed from our newsletter.

For our newsletter service, we use the "Mailchimp" newsletter service provided by Rocket Sience Group LLC, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000 Atlanta, GA 30308.

When you enter your e-mail address to receive the newsletter, it is initially stored by MailChimp for the purpose of sending the owner an e-mail in which he/she can confirm the subscription to the newsletter mailing ("double opt-in"). After such confirmation, the email address is stored permanently at MailChimp until they have unsubscribed from receiving the newsletter or it is deleted by us. MailChimp stores the date of registration as well as the IP address under which the registration took place. There is no further use of their IP address.

We would like to point out that the data collected and used via MailChimp is stored and processed on computers in the USA. With your consent to receive our newsletter, you agree to this. In addition, we have concluded a data processing contract with MailChimp based on the so-called EU standard contractual clauses. Your e-mail address will not be passed on to third parties in any other way.

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time. An unsubscribe link is included in every email with our newsletter. You can also revoke your consent to the use of your e-mail address for the future at any time. To do so, please use the contact options below.

7) YOUR RIGHTS


You are generally entitled to the rights of information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection rights have otherwise been violated in any way, you can complain to the supervisory authority.
